Christopher Street Day Berlin 2017
Berlin Pride, called "Christopher Street Day" (CSD) in German, consists of two parts: the actual Pride march (CSD Demo) and a big final rally (CSD Finale). Both take part on Saturday, July 22, 2017.
CSD DEMO – PRIDE MARCH BERLIN:
The demo starts at 12 pm in Berlin-Charlottenburg, on the corner of Ku’damm and Joachimsthaler Str and makes its way via Wittenbergplatz, Nollendorfplatz, Lützowplatz and Siegessäule to Brandenburg Gate.
Berlin Pride’s twofold demo structure gives particular visibility to grassroot projects and smaller groups: They reserve the first part of the demo for these groups to help them not to get lost between the huge bassy trucks.
Participation in the first part of the demo is allowed for anyone without a motor, but it’s also possible for vehicles as long as their sound systems are limited to not-too-loud 400 Watts. Marchers may join the demo wherever they like: Along the route, there is always open access to the march, so public can decide to walk with the parade spontaneously.
CSD FINALE – THE FINAL RALLY:
The final rally takes part in front of the iconic Brandenburg Gate. The huge Pride Village stretches out for half a mile along Straße des 17. Juni and will be open from 2 pm until midnight. The actual stage programme starts at 4:30 pm, offering a combination of politics, music and entertainment.
A variety of bands, acts and DJs will be performing on the main stage, and in between, speeches, actions and the Soul of Stonewall Award ceremony will be presented on the main stage. Meanwhile, a number of hot DJs will keep you going non-stop on the other four dj stages inside the Village.
Main event is Conchita Wurst at 18:30 h at main stage Branderburger Tor.
