Canal Parade Pride Amsterdam

Canal Parade Pride Amsterdam

The Canal Parade has started . The best free festival of the year!

The Canal Parade is the highlight of the Amsterdam Gay Pride, with elaborately decorated boots and crew and frantic visitors along the side. The city of Amsterdam estimates that some 350,000 people would come to the LHBT party. It is the 22nd time that the event takes place.

On the first Saturday in August the participants on 80 boats provide a spectacular show with DJs, sensational themes and lots of fun, which is infectious to all spectators on the banks of the Prinsengracht canal and Amstel river.

During the parade are also many smaller boats along the canals, which increase the fun.

NOTE: This year's reverse route! The Canal Parade starts at 13.00hrs at the Oosterdok port and goes through the Nieuwe Herengracht and the Amstel. Then over the Prinsengracht to the end of the Westerdok port where the last boat will arrive around 17.00hrs.
