Pride parade in London: Thousands join the LGBT march
More than 26,000 people were estimated have taken part in the parade. This colourful parade took a 2km route which began north of Oxford Circus, in Regent Street, and was watched by a crowd that was expected to number about a million
The annual march, now on its 45th year, marks 50 years since homosexuality was decriminalised in England and Wales.
The first official Pride march in London took place in 1972 and saw 2,000 men and women. Last year's big event saw more than 40,000 people join the march.
As recorded before , the rainbow flag has been projected on to the Palace of Westminster for the first time in celebration of the event.
And for peoplewho said , "Is there still a pride needed?" .

The Pride in London Parade takes place on Saturday, 29 June 2024. This year the parade runs from Hyde Park Corner, through Piccadilly Circus, down Haymarket and along Pall Mall to Trafalgar Square, culminating at Whitehall .
