90,000 visitors to the Antwerp Pride Parade


More than 90,000 visitors to the Antwerp Pride Parade Saturday. Antwerp Pride Parade was with 52 delegations greater than ever.



Saturday, August 13, the Antwerp Pride Parade drew back from the South into the city to the old town. This year, no fewer than 52 delegations participated in the parade which makes it the largest Antwerp Pride Parade ever. The route was longer.



As every year launched the Antwerp Pride Parade on the Vlaamse Kaai. The parade starts there at 14 hours. The parade passed the stone square where the free Wave festival erupted with tens of thousands of visitors.





This year Antwerppride requires extra attention for LGBT refugees. A delegation LGBT refugees also opened the parade with politicians and members of the LGBT community. LGBT refugees are particularly vulnerable, is prohibited in 78 countries by law and even in death in 8 countries .





But the parade goes even further with the various parties in the city and bars. On Sunday there will be a closing event on the main market.
